David Livingstone Smith’s discussion of ‘Less Than Human’ broadcasts nationally

David Livingstone Smith, Ph.D., professor of philosophy, was a guest on the syndicated radio program The Scholars’ Circle, on June 8, 2013.

Smith discussed his 2011 book Less Than Human:  Why We Demean, Enslave, and Exterminate Others.   He was joined by psychologist Erwin Staub and philosopher John Kaag.  The program was broadcast on 18 stations throughout the country, including ones in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Houston.

Smith is also the author of Why We Lie:  The Evolutionary Roots of Deception and the Unconscious Mind and The Most Dangerous Animal:  Human Nature and the Origins of War.
